Working with your equipment long enough can get you in a rut. So I always study lighting schemes and enhance them to make them my own, be it use of different modifiers, one less strobe, one more strobe, a slightly higher or lower lighting ratio, or taking something out of the clear blue and cross my fingers. Sometimes it’s something completely different, like not directing a “model, but instead photographing an interaction with the fresh talent of a friend. Enjoy!
